Ifugao fetishes were consecrated and placed in the beams of the lodge houses along with the skulls of victims. They were captured during the Philippine Insurrection of 1899. Fine basket weave in the form of an animal trap. Undoubtedly sacrificial to promote a good game harvest. 3 3/4" height with suspension loops to hang in the beams of the house. Excellent with good Ifugao patina.
