Small example, just 2 å?‰۝ diameter to fit the waistcoat pocket. Black japanned papier-m̢ch̩. The lid inlaid with pewter border and central motif, each of pewter circles and lead or tin clusters. The rim of the base and top with fine delicate pewter liners to guarantee the seal. Just minor wear, excellent in and out for the period. See Neumann page 245 & 246 for related examples.
