$585.00

See The American Sword, Peterson #121 for this standard pattern carried in the Civil War. Brass hilt with eagle pommel and guard. Folding side guard with the pivot ball lacking as typical. Floral motif knuckle bow. Exceptional amount of gold remaining to the hilt. Wire wrapped ray skin grip of particularly full form for improved purchase. 31” d.e. diamond section blade, decorated half its length with foliage, U S, eagle and military motifs. A few small nicks, negligible. The forte with retailer’s name, RIDABOCK & CO, NEW YORK, established 1847. Brass mounted scabbard excellent and undented. The plating dulled and should be polished.  Good clean example of better than average quality. From the famous Frank Barnyak collection.
