19TH century. Variously known as a Black Sea Yataghan and Laz Bichaq derived from the Laz people who occupy the Turkey Georgia border at the Black Sea. 32 5/8” length with leather wrapped grip and double black horn pommel flanking the brass tang band. Finely forged blade of elongated recurved form with double fullers interrupted by inlaid maker’s or owner’s marks to the left with  side. The back with delicate engraved brass inlay Hilt excellent Blade crisp with patches of pitting and black staining to the right side, the first 8”.  Very rare.
