From the General Harry Banzholtz collection which won first prize at the 1905 Saint Louis Exposition. Used in the Philippine Insurrection of 1899-1902 and captured by American Marines. 72 ½” length with tapered hardwood haft, flared at the split rattan wrapped socket. Fine medially ridged leaf shaped point with light tool finish. See Smithsonian Institution, Bulletin 137 (1926) plate 6 #11 for a near identical example identified as Moro, Mindanao.
