Finely forged, 4 ¼” length with slender tapered barbs. Spirally twisted shaft and tapered butted seam socket partially opened at the bottom, apparently as made. Excavated and professionally conserved. Seventh Crusade period (1248-1254). See Nicolle fig. 84 for a comparable example excavated at Ras Castle, Serbia dated 1230-40. Exceptional for form and workmanship.
