850-1050 AD. Gilt bronze, provincial example of the poplar serpent bracelets. C form, with deeply rounded face and flay inside. Formed as a snake or sea serpent, in stylized representation with rudimentary heard and tapered tail. Suitable for man or woman as women warriors fought alongside their male counterparts. 2.94” inside dimension and 3.25" outside. Suitable for wear on the wrist or forearm and likely made for a Viking woman warrior. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
