C.3000 BC. Hand molded gray terracotta, about 1 ¼” diameter. Formed as addorsed truncated cones with a large central hole for the spindle. Large example for spinning coarse thread including wool. Sheep were important to ancient Egyptians for food, clothing, and for trampling seeds into the ground.
