Zulu Warrior's Snuff Flask C.1850


Small size as carried into battle. 5 1/4" height, wood with cylindrical neck and pierced side lug for securing to the belt. Neck and body with copper trade wire wrap in characteristic form. The neck wire excellent, body with about 20% frayed and missing from wear. Exposed wood with surface encrustation from handling. Sharing snuff was an important bonding ritual among Zulu warriors and some knobkerries were inlet for that purpose.
