C.1860s to Zulu War of 1879 period. 54 1/8” length. Wood haft slightly tapered through its length. Woven copper wire wrapped socket. Medially ridged leaf shaped head on long cylindrical bolster with characteristic dimpled junction. Fine patina. The point crisp with some pitting to the bolster. The copper wire wrap, traded from the English in the period of peaceful cooperation before the 1879 uprising, complete and excellent.
