Woodland Indian Pin Cushion C.1900

Iroquois/Mic Mac produced in Canada for the American trade which, at that time, largely comprised affluent ADventurers and honeymooners. 6" height, heart shaped. Lavishly encrusted in bed work including looped fringe to the bottom and a top loop for wall hanging, remarkably complete considering its fragility. Pin cushions were essential as all but the wealthiest women sewed the family clothes.
