Second half of the 19th century and likely closer to 1850. 38 7/8" length with slightly convex face and deeper section back. Tapered from the swelled hand grip. The tips stepped for securing the string (none with it). Good patina from handling and a small smear of old red paint. The surface shows scraped finish throughout having been fashioned with an iron knife only.
