Gilt bronze, size 7 å? probably made for a woman warrior, now well documented. 3.3mm width at the bottom expanding to shield shape on top and pierced with bands of circular holes, a well known Viking pattern. The pierced arrangement is symmetrical but for one end having an additional circle.åÊ Probably that the arrangement had supernatural significance, and the piercings represent celestial bodies which, for Vikings, were gods. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.åÊ
