About 2 1/4” (2.21”) width, oval form with spiral or rope twist frame and curled loop terminals. The coil or helix was a favorite Viking figure which probably had spiritual significance. Original cross pin. Worn in numbers on the leather war jerkin, at an ounce each, a few pounds could be added providing significant protection against sword blows.
