10th-11th century, silvered bronze, over 3/4” width. Formed as a broad crescent moon with a pelleted edge over a raised inner edge. The field of rounded or swelled section. Both sides are detailed identically. Worn, from the time of its use, perhaps ritually. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and on an 18” modern Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
