10th-11th century, silvered bronze, just under 1 1/4:‰۝ width (1.22‰۝). Formed as a raised edge broad crescent with four raised crater like figures. The significance now lost, but the connection of craters to the moon comes to mind and, as Vikings traveled to Iceland, a land of craters, that too is possibly referenced. åÊMade by the open mold technique. Worn, from the time of its use. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and on a modern Sterling silver 18"åÊneck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
