Forged iron 3 1/8" length. Finely forged. Tapered, wedge section striking bar with a wedge section projection to the front, possible used for flint knapping. The only example with that feature which we have seen. Curved terminal opposite forming the finger stall and ending with a swelled base point, possible a stylized snake head. The curvilinear form is suggestive of the prow of the Viking long warship. Conserved sound excavated condition.
