Civil War production. Standard pattern, The American Sword, Peterson, #33. Brass hilt with number to the pommel. No other markings. Brass with mottled dark patina. Grip dry but complete with wire intact. 34 ¾” blade with remnants of a maker’s mark to the forte, a typical import from the German makers as was purchased by the US government, and the Confederacy. Blade brown with uniform light to medium oxidation and numerous edge nicks. A well used old veteran with great Civil War character.
