The Court Martial of General Hull, January 3, 1814

Bound account, published 1814, in New York by Praky and Bowen. 156 page transcript of the trial followed by two appendices of 159 pages. Hull was tried and found guilty of treason for the surrender of Detroit to the British on August 15, 1812 (War of 1812). His decision, against the advice of his advisors, was a devastating blow to the morale of our young nation. Additionally, it provided 30 cannon, 2500 muskets and other ordnance to the poorly armed forces assisting the British. Hull was ostracized as a traitor. This original account of the trial with its attendant supplemental information is well known to bibliophiles and historians, however we were unable to find a single other copy either on the market or public archive.
