Slightly under 1 1/8" height including the suspension loop. Bronze, cast, and chased in minute detail as the crescent moon with baluster tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. Beaded borders with a triangle at the top. Upper portion as a six point star with trefoil tips and a centra raised cone. Undoubtedly of astrological significance, now lost. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Fine quality. Excellent condition with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on a modern gilt 18” gilt silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
