Dating to the period of assimilation and eventually conversion of Vikings in England. Gilt bronze, over å?‰۝height including the loop. Heart form with cusped top, triple form, representing the trefoil favored by Vikings with nubs at the inflections. Each with four raised circles the significance of which is now lost. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Fine preservation with the 24karat gold restored on a gilt Sterling silver 18‰۝åÊneck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
