This example produced to the pattern but with plated hilt and scabbard as issued to officers and sometimes distinguished by being identified as the 1908 pattern. It is further distinguished by the enameled cross and crowned eagle to the guard.  31” straight broad fullered blade with crowned FTN maker’s mark, in original preservative and blade seat. Plated hilt with diced wood grips. Plated scabbard with minor freckling but no dents. Fine example which saw service in the Rif wars in Morocco, made famous by the Sigmund Romberg operetta, Desert Song
