Bronze hilt patterned after the 1860 Staff & Field Officer’s sword with the SOV Mottoes and service men logo to the shell guard. 29 3/4” straight d.e. blade profusely decorated with patriotic, military and SV motifs. Plated scabbard with chased bronze mounts. Excellent with light wear and patina as expected. The Sons of Veterans are the successors to the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). Founded in 1881, its mandate is to preserve and celebrate the history and heroism of Union Soldiers of the Civil War.
