Bronze, just over 1‰۝ height. An S with serif (top lacking). The back with lug to be mounted to the belt. From 190-230 AD, Roman Legionaries commonly wore belts with Latin mottoes spelled out in the attached letters. VTERE FELIX (roughly, Happy Life) was the most common. This is a letter S from such a belt. It is just over 1‰۝ high, with large serif as is typical. The flat back has a rivet stem to attach it to the belt.
