Gilt bronze. Rounded face band 4.3mm width with slightly thickened bottom in the Roman taste. Elongated stepped bezel in the form of a squinting eye. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
