7 ½” length. Worked in a somewhat perfunctory fashion, perhaps from the pressure of war. The horn shaved leaving a raised spout. The wood base secured with hand forged nails and with an additional nail in the wood base for a suspension cord. The size is suitable for either pistol or priming powder. That it was worn on the shoulder suggests that it was used as a primer for the long rifle.
