Four piece snaffle with circular side rings and split mouthpiece. 6” width plus the rings. Similar in form to the later examples but this one entirely hand forged-blacksmith made. South Carolina, found in Schindler’s Antique Shop, King St. Charleston. Many of the battles and skirmishes of the Revolution which occurred were between Revolutionary forces and colonial Loyalists. Thus, all colonists and this bit could have served on either side.
