Battle of King’s Mountain. Purchased in Abbeville SC, C.1970. Small size, 1 3/8”, as carried in a rifleman’s accessory bag and used with a rifle flint. Surface encrusted with fragments of other material from the bag adhering. The Battle of King’s Mountain was fought between patriot and loyalist militias-all colonists. The latter under the command of Major Patrick Ferguson, inventor of the Ferguson Rifle, who was killed at the battle.
