10th-11th century. Slightly under 3/4” height of iconic Viking battle axe form with a backswept bearded bit. Oval socket or eye. A miniature of the iconic Viking battle axe which was a primary weapon of the Vikings who fought on foot, hand to hand. Probably worn by a Viking wife when her husband was away raiding and undoubtedly has amuletic properties.  Professionally refurbished with the pure silver overlay restored on a Sterling silver neck chain.  Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
