RARE VARIATION PRUSSIAN MODEL 1889 OFFICERS SWORD

$475.00
Standard pattern, but variant construction with iron guard and pommel and walnut grip (small chip) with iron cipher of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Original leather finger loop and the guard with regimental markings and “1920” surcharge, probably applied after the end of WWI. That date does not date the sword as the cipher dates it to pre 1918. 31 ¾” blade with Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie Solingen maker’s markings. Bright with very minor staining. The hilt with near all original blued/black finish interspersed with small islands of storage rusting. Plated scabbard with scattered speckles, retains its original suspension strap.
