19th century. Deep rolled edge cup guards slightly recurved cross guards off set within the cups. Checkered bone grips with vertical bead edges. 35 5/8" hollow faced triangular section blades, unmarked. Untouched condition with frosty oxidation texture to the blades and cups. Dueling with swords was practiced among aristocratic circles in isolated parts of Italy and Spain and may be compared to the vendettas which decimated Corsica.
