12th-13th centuries. Over 1 1/8" total height. Broad beams, flared from the center as adopted by the Knights Hospitaller as the Maltese Cross. The cross beam centered. The front incised with a flared terminal stick cross with charges. The back recessed for inclusion of a sacred relic like the hair of a saint. Carried by European Pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land to visit the land where Christ lived and died. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored, on gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
