7th century. Bronze, 1 5/8" length. The body decorated in relief stylized foliage. The cross pin of undulating form, perhaps cast as a mythological beast. Reverse with two pierced pillars for mounting. Uniform green patina. This example accords with the finds at Springhead, Kent, England where remains of Roman, Celtic and Saxon settlements are found.
