The standard pattern is in excellent condition. The 31 ½” blade marked W K &C with king’s head and knight marks, for Weyersberg Kirchbaum & Co. Solingen Germany sword maker. Gilt hilt with folding side guard. Wire wrapped horn(?) grip with gilt cipher of Kaiser Wilhelm I. This pattern was adopted the year after Kaiser Wilhelm II, the Hohenzollern heir assumed the throne of Prussia. Examples ordinarily have a crowned WII cipher on the grip. Nice clean complete example with considerable gold surface remaining in protected areas, particularly the inside of the guard.
