Late 19th-century. Standard pattern with 33” broad fullered single edged blade, finely decorated half its length with scrolling foliage with monster and beast head terminals. The right side with crowned eagle of Kaiser Wilhelm. The back with J R OBRECHT HOFLIEFERANT BERLIN maker’s name. That maker rarely encountered. Brass hilt with double raised edge shell guards and wire wrapped grip, sound and tight. The blade with scattered minor smooth black staining.
