18th century, Tunisia. See Stone fig.755 #10 for an identical pair. Bronze, 5 3/4" height. Swept form diamond section side bars, each with integral spur (iron rowels lacking). Scalloped foot pad and double suspension bars. Decorated overall in concentric circle pattern. Dark patina. Tunisians were slavers preying on the white populations of Mediterranean sea side villages and selling the slaves, mostly Greek and Italian to Arabs.
