Gilt bronze, size 8 ½ with 2.5mm rounded face band expanding to the reeded concave shoulders. Rectangular bezel with inscription. See Ancient Rings, Polio, p.91 for examples of this form dating to the Middle Ages and worn by Christians and Muslims both. This example with its Arabic inscription is attributed to the Ottoman Empire to or slightly before the reign of Suleman the Magnificent and the peak power of the Empire. Professionally refurbished for modern wear with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
