Known as Bloody Mackenzie, he was born in Dundee Scotland in 1636 to the titled Mackenzie family. He was knighted member of Scottish Parliament and defended Archibald Campbell, Marquis of Argyll following the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.  A copy of this lithograph is used to illustrate the Wikipedia entry for Mackenzie and a copy is in the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland. Minor foxing.  Professionally matted to 9” x 12” for an off the shelf frame from Michael’s, Walmart etc. Genuine 200 year old original.
