19th century. 8 ½” s.e./d.e. blade chiseled with an owner's mark to the root. Faceted section brass scabbard with a spine to the curve and faceted terminal. The top is engraved in foliage matching the base mount of the hilt. That mount and the covering of the crested pommel with silver (?) plating partially remaining. Wood grip. A particularly early example in well-used condition but complete and undamaged.
