Short parrying example used for close in fighting. 41” total length. Forged head of traditional form with banded bolster. Stepped malacca with fine two rank basket work socket of woven split cane. Original faceted wood scabbard (worn, tip partially absent). Head crisp with some spider rusting from scabbard condensation. The socket encased in pitch with some wear. Good untouched 19th century example.
