17th-18th century. 25 5/8” length. Cane shaft with inset wood nock with intricately painted segment below. Some of the decorations survive. Slender, well-modeled point with triangular veins on the conical socket. Mixed metal banding below and original securing wire wrap. With limited armor-piercing capability, these were used primarily on lightly protected infantry and civilians who were slaughtered during and after sieges and battles.
