Gilt bronze, size 8 ¼ with 3.1mm rounded face band and raised stepped floral shaped bezel with radials at the mid sides and central nub. That form is found on other Byzantine rings of the period and probably represents the wheel of fortune during the time of conversion from paganism to Christianity. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
