Crusades period. Forged iron 5 3/8” length with short medially ridged leaf shaped point on tapered conical socket. The base pierced for a securing pin. Used by cavalry (knights) against the lightly protected Saracens. Also used in Europe to great effect against infantry in mail and leather armor. Very rarely encountered as unlike arrowheads, these were very seldom lost on the battlefield.
