Forged iron, 8 ¼” length with thin fighting blade extending to the tapered tang pierced with three holes for attachment of scale horn, antler or wood scale grips. A side or belt knife for a commoner, designed as a weapon with a thin slashing blade showing no repeated sharpening as would a work knife. As commoners were prohibited from owning weapons, this is a circumvention of those laws.
