13th century. Forged iron with 6” wedge section blade. The base with applied brass crip caps, specific to C.1225 AD. Tapered tang for pinned scale grips now lacking. One pine remaining and one missing. Heart shaped brass pommel cap. A weapon, indicated by the fact that is has not been repeatedly sharpened as were work knives. Well preserved for the period.
