MEDIEVAL CHRISTIAN WHEEL OF FORTUNE AMULET NECKLACE, 6th-10th CENTURY AD

Found in the Baltic hinterland. 7 1/2” length. Iron with a medially ridged leaf-shaped point, and dramatically flaring forged seam conical socket pierced with a hole for a securing pin. The socket base is irregular, apparently from deliberate breaking in the funerary process. Excavated with heavy texture and excellent profile. Professionally refurbished with the gold surface restored and on an 18” modern gilt plated neck chain for contemporary wear.
