A friend of the artist’s, Martin Folkes, antiquarian and mathematician, was President of the Royal Society and Vice-President of the Foundling Hospital. Born to wealth, he held many important positions in London politics and society.  The internet can provide additional information on his illustrious career.  9 1/4” x 12 ¾” plate size, archivally double matted to 14” x 18”, shrink wrapped and ready for framing.
