15th-16th century AD. Women's size 9 1/4. 3.2mm width band with a rounded face, flared to the fan splay decorated shoulders. Raised oval bezel, transversely oriented, finely engraved with a fish complete with dorsal and pectoral fins. The fish symbol was used to represent Christ by the second century and it surely identifies this ring as that of a Christian. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.126 bottom. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. See the reference image which shows the process. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Exceptional preservation.
