19th century example of large proportions. Plated hilt with Columbus head pommel and cross guard with large central badge. Black japanned grip. 28" d.e. blade decorated at the forte with foliage and K of C motifs, marked Knights of Columbus, but no provision for an owner's name. Plated scabbard with elaborate silvered mounts. Blade bright and crisp with a little minor finger staining. Scabbard plate excellent. The mounts and hilt elements with wear form use and most silver remaining.
