Silver plated hilt. Composition grip of near perfect ivory imitation, with scrimshawed monogram and cross. 30” blade decorated over 2/3 its length with crusades scenes, Masonic symbols, foliage, and owner’s name on gold ground, crisp and bright The forte with seller’s name C E Ward Co. New London O.  C E Ward was established in New London Ohio before 1910 and sold to Lilley Ames in 1951 dating this sword. Plated scabbard with silver top mount enameled crown. Quality and construction including the decoration consistent with its early manufacture. Good early example in condition consistent with its age.
